Carlingford

Wow how time flies ! It has been 2 weeks since my last post, and so much has happened.Last week, we all went to Carlingford Adventure Centre for two days.It all started bright and early on Monday morning at 7:00 at the Esso station, Where we all met to get on the bus to Louth. The bus ride was not as long as I had expected. My friend Emily and myself spent the whole ride listening to music and watching youtube videos together. When we arrived, we were greeted by our instructors in the volleyball court, our meeting area. We were split into two groups; A and B and given our rooms. I shared a room with my friends Emma, Emily and Serena. We all stocked up on food supplies for the trip so when we got to our room, we all rationed our sweets and drinks out (We brought WAY too much food HAHA )As soon as we got our rooms we grabbed our swimming suits and headed down to the beach to go kayaking. We got our wetsuits, got changed in the changing rooms and headed down to the sandy.. I mean ROCKY beach. We played some fun games on the rocks but in one of the games we had to lay down and that REALLY hurt my back. We kayaked out to the sand on the other side of the beach. I go kayaking in the summer so I didn't find it difficult to paddle. I really enjoyed that day as when we got back to the building we had lunch and headed to the forest to play LASERTAG !!!My favourite activity of the trip was the lasertag. It was sooooooo much fun ! We were split into groups and we fought against each other. We had trees to hide behind and bunkers to hide in. We played a game of sniper, a version of catch the flag and just reds against blues. Then that night we all went back up to the mountain and went on a walk in the forest BLINDFOLDED ! It was very dark and the instructors told us to find are way around to follow the rope. It wasn't really scary... I was more afraid of falling over than anything :PThe next day we were up bright and early again for breakfast and then we went off to the beach again but not for kayaking in twos, We all went canoeing in groups out into the sea. This was so much fun as we paddled out into the sea and climbed onto a raft to jump off of. Then we swam out to a trampoline in the middle of the sea where we all jumped on and off of into the water. I did a frontflip into the water but I got salt water up my nose Ew! We also went to nuns Island where legend has it, the water keeps you young so we all went into the cave and one of the instructors poured water on top of us. Since there was a constant flow of the water and it was in a dark cave THE WATER WAS FREEZING ! Worse than the sea!We went back to the building and dried ourselves off then headed off to to an obstacle course. I didn't think this was as fun as the other activities but it was still a good time as the activities were different to any other obstacle course I have ever done. And then that evening we had to say goodbye to all of the instructors who were so nice to us on our trip and head home. I loved this experience and I am so happy I got to enjoy it with my friends.

Digital Footprint

I have just watched a video called "My Digital Dossier", also known as my digital footprint. Your digital footprint is the data you leave behind on digital services. Everybody has a digital footprint. I already knew about this and I think that it is a good idea to have a record of all the data you have created online. This means, every email you've created and every profile on social media you've created is kept of record and is listed under your name from the moment you are born.I believe this is a good to have on record as it could be used as evidence in the case of online bullying with fake accounts. If someone were to end up in court for whatever reason, their digital dossier could be checked which contains the data accruing about the habits and interests of their online life.I don't think it is an invasion of privacy as it could be beneficial to you in the future and only some of the information in that dossier will be publicly accessible and some will be private and protected by the agencies who generate the records or information.I am 100% positive my digital dossier is a little big as I do have accounts on various social media and 2 emails (one for school work) but I don't post anything online that I am not proud of.
